Memory of  Media

The Intersection of a Pluralistic Spacetime

“Memory of Media” is a poetic and immersive video installation that depicts the sudden intersection of space and time, where various individuals and events converge from seemingly unrelated circumstances. The five video pieces are set against the backdrop of the Goryo Shrine in Kamakura City, with the Enoden, a local tram, passing by. These videos capture moments involving commuters on the tram, a woman walking along a sidewalk, and the railroad crossing at the shrine’s outer gate, all occurring simultaneously. A large black-and-white photograph suspended at the entrance of the installation captures the pivotal moment when these five perspectives intersect. It portrays the magical instant when various elements converge and then gently separate, leaving behind an ethereal impression of fleeting connection.
