Perfect Time

What is the nature of time? How might we come to touch it?

“Perfect Time” is a magical, interactive work that brings time into existence only through the participant’s engagement.
When a participant adds sand to the installation, an image is projected onto the sand. The sand becomes a medium that embodies time, and, much like an hourglass, when the sand in the installation runs out, the projected image disappears. The central theme of this installation is “time.” We exist within the constant flow of time, yet we are unable to truly experience it. In “Perfect Time,” time is depicted through illusory images that appear on the flowing sand. This conveys the impression that one might be able to physically touch these images. However, when one does, only the sand remains. What, then, is “time”? This work, one of h.o.’s early pieces, is renowned for its poetic intuition, captivating audiences worldwide.
