E=T

Greater Cosmos: An Artistic Equation

E=mc² is the famous equation discovered by Albert Einstein, which demonstrates the equivalence of mass and energy. In this work, the equation is interpreted artistically, proposing that energy (E) is equal to time (T). The vast energy that began with the Big Bang continues to create time, expanding throughout the universe. The disappearance of this energy would signify the disappearance of time itself.

This piece represents the universe through a system powered solely by the energy of a smartphone placed at its center. While humanity may feel as though we live in a world made convenient by media and AI technologies, we are merely consuming the limited resources of this planet, living within the “time” created by that consumption. Just as the universe in this work ceases when the smartphone’s energy runs out, we too are living inextricably tied to the fate of a much larger universe.
