“BLUE” delivers real-time visualizations of the Danube’s flow speed, wave formation and water level. All sorts of bubbles flow in the virtual Danube, and they’re constantly combing the internet for info about the river and its environs. When visitors make contact with them, they transfer what they know. “BLUE” isn’t just a newsroom; it’s also a clock that reflects the daily passage of time and the course of the seasons in that the installation changes in accordance with the time of day and the current weather. It reacts to day and night, to rain and snow. “BLUE” is thus constantly re-emerging anew. It invites us to reflect on the Danube and the endless flow of time.
